Former President, Board of Directors, Lower East Side Business Improvement District
(now CEO, Miller Manhattan Property Group)
When Roberto ran the Business Improvement District, the Lower East Side became his home even though his official residence was uptown. He would be in the office or interacting with business owners and residents on any day of the week. He cared about the well-being of his immediate constituents, the BID property owners and merchants, while trying to build bridges with the rest of the community. He was an advocate and cheerleader for the neighborhood, pushing for more publicityand foot traffic for businesses, the right zoning for the buildings, an expanded role for the creative community, and optimal office space for effective service delivery. He took personal responsibility for every aspect of his position and worked toward his vision with unsurpassed diligence and tenacity.
